I am happy to report that NO invasive plants were found in Crescent Lake during our recent summer surveying!  The volunteer “CLIPPERS” (Crescent Lake Invasive Plant Patrol) monitored all but one sector of the Crescent Lake shoreline and found only native Maine aquatic plants! To all the volunteers that participated in the Clippers program, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all for a great job!

CLWA strongly supports the Clippers and the Courtesy Boat Inspectors (located at the Route 85 ramp during the summer) for all the work they monitor boats and aquatic plants. Without CLWA’s commitment to helping these two programs annually, it would be a “true guessing game” to determine whether or not Crescent is an invasive plant-free lake.

Your annual donations help both of these valuable programs continue.

There were many changes in communicating and training by Lake Stewards of Maine (formerly VLMP). All training sessions, review of various lake topics, specific review of multiple plants, and meetings with all the Invasive plant Coordinators for the whole state were all conducted via Zoom meetings all summer.

Due to Covid-19, many new webinars were created and can be viewed in your homes whenever you wish on this website.  There is an excellent 3-part IPP training course that can be taken over the winter so that you can be a certified patroller next summer.
